Experiences

Experiences at Hamatethy are woven naturally into each stay. Most are included, optional, and designed to suit a wide range of ages, interests and energy levels.

Approach

At your own Pace

There is no set schedule at Hamatethy. Guests are free to take part in as much or as little as they wish, choosing what feels right on each day.

Some experiences are guided, others are self-led. All are designed to deepen connection to the land, without ever feeling prescriptive or demanding.

Wildlife

Beaver watching at dusk

Guests are guided around the enclosure to see the dams and channels created by the beavers. The best time to watch is from around an hour before sunset and into the evening.

Torches are provided and also some binoculars. Please bring your own if you have them.

There is also a viewing spot which can be visited at any time for quiet observation.

Conservation

The stork enclosure

The stork enclosure offers a chance to learn about the reintroduction of a lost species and the wider work taking place across the estate.

These striking birds are a powerful symbol of what careful restoration and long-term thinking can achieve.
